10 Ways To Reduce Anxiety

Do you ever have that panic attack that starts in the pit of your stomach or your body fills with anxiety and it’s all you can do to concentrate?! I used to have panic attacks and trouble breathing every time I had to speak in front of a group.  I’ve also gotten that sick feeling in my stomach and clammy hands.  Life is stressful and we can’t always control that, but there are things we can do to lessen the overwhelming feeling of panic.
Here are 10 of my favorite ways to reduce anxiety:

1)           Yoga or simple stretches

2)            Stepping out in the fresh air and taking a few  
       deep breaths

3)            Having a favorite mantra/prayer or meditation

4)           Consider taking vitamin supplements (consult with your physician first)

5)          Clean your home (for me, it’s always more relaxing to have a clean living space)

6)          Do something nice for someone else

7)          Write the stressor/worry down. Then write what steps you’d take to get rid of that worrisome thing

8)          Focus on the “now”. Focus on what is right in front of you and what you CAN control

9)          Try acupuncture or massage

10)      Eat a healthier diet and cut out caffeine and alcohol
